Response to Joanna:
First of all, woah, I started a trend?! If so, this is the first and last time that something like that will ever happen. The thought of people being influenced by me seriously frightens me.
Second: alright, everyone, stop updating your blogs. She says so. Then again, you've probably already stopped, and if it was on your own free will, kudos to you. If you don't like your blog, stop with it.
Third: was the "blog trend" ever alive? Seriously. I started this one back in early 2002, and didn't think I'd ever update it again. But, hey, look! I think I did!
You are right about one thing, though. A lot of blogs are pointless and boring. I totally agree with you there. Some of them are just plain annoying ("OMG 2day wus just LOL...." and so on). The point of a blog should be to entertain the writer of it-if you aren't doing that, then you'll stop writing a blog and let it fade away into the oblivion that it's always been in.
No, I don't want to hear about your mundane life. No, I don't want to read a so called "entertaining" conversation you had with your friend and then pasted from an instant messaging program. No, I don't want to see that "funny link" being forwarded to death through e-mails and word of mouth. Those are my thoughts when reading random blogs of people I've never spoken to, and even some blogs of people I know very well. I would be less than surprised if the entire population felt the same way. Every so often, you may find a blog that entertains you. Here's what I do: if I like the blog, and it's updated fairly often, I bookmark it. Even if I don't like the blog, if it's updated often, I might still bookmark it. If it's never updated, or if the writing is in some foreign language like internet shorthand, I'll forget about it.
There's the great thing about blogs. If you don't like what the person has to say, you ignore their blog, or just skip a post or two, as you, the reader (if you actually exist) is probably doing right now. Because doing this entertains me, I've actually updated this thing for about two and a half years. Most blogs made within the past two years of friends of mine have been forgotten about or ignored. Blogging is simply a fad to those people, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. But for those of us who actually (gasp) enjoy updating our little websites, we plan on stopping when we plan on stopping.
Wow, that was way too long. Well, that's post 451.

So I'm at the store, getting a cell phone.
"Could I have a number with no 1's or 0's?" I asked the man behind the counter. This was because you can't spell out a phone number if it has 1's or 0's.
He looked at his computer.
"Let's see..." he said, and hit a button on his computer. A random number appeared on the screen.
"No, you can't," he said.

A cell phone to your friends is kind of like having you trapped in a box. They knock on your box, and if you want to talk to them, you pop out of the little box. If you're busy or don't want to talk to them, you stay in. And, if by some chance, you don't come out of your box, they can leave a little note on the side of it.

tomamama29: I'll tell you if I come across a dead hobo while riding my bike
imokwiththat44: ok
tomamama29: you will be the first to know
tomamama29: seriously
imokwiththat44: awesome
tomamama29: no police first
tomamama29: just "Hello, there's a dead hobo. Now what?"
imokwiththat44: poke it with a stick
